Our Vacation 2009

Our vacation is over and we are all sad it was hard to go back to work after all the fun we had. Gatlinburg was beautiful all the leaves were changing and the temperature was just right, warm during the day and chilly at night. Our first night at the resort while standing on the porch we got to see a black bear walking across the back yard. That was a wild experience I've never seen one in it's natural habitat, I'm glad though we were on the second floor. Every night we would see 2 or 3 skunks wondering around the back yard looking for food. I never realized how big skunks actually are.
Crystal had her first Hard Rock Cafe experience and loved it! I love the food at Hard Rock! We visited Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg, the Knoxville Zoo and at the end of the week we drove to Chattanooga where we went through Ruby Falls. If you have never been to Ruby Falls it is beautiful, it was our first time to visit and I have never seen anything like it.
I took nearly 300 pictures, but don't worry I'm not going to post all of them. It was hard though to choose which ones to show you because they were all so good. Crystal said it best the other day, "we captured lots of memories" each picture took us right back to the moment it happened.

It's time to go on vacation!!!

Well folks the time has finally come...VACATION!!! By 8am tomorrow Kyle, Crystal, Hannah, Rusty and myself will be burning up the road to Pigeon Forge, TN, we are so excited! This vacation is definitely a well needed one. We have lots of brochures for things to do but really we are just going to play it by ear, what ever strikes our fancy is what we will do that day. I will share a secret though, I'm looking forward to the zoo, the aquarium and gem mining! It may seem silly and juvenile but I enjoy those kinds of things! Well, again I must cut this short, but I will have lots of things to tell you all about when we get back. So check back with us in about a week!

Wow it's been a while!

I only have a moment so I wanted to jump on here and update everyone on what's been going on, what I don't post today I'll finish tomorrow hopefully! As many of you can tell it has been a while since I have posted anything on here. I do apologize for the long delay but it has been a very hectic past few weeks. Many of you already know the day after my last post (Sept 24Th) Rusty's grandmother past away unexpectedly, as heartbreaking and devastating as it was we know she is in a much better place. She has finally made it home to be with Grandpa and they are happy once again. So I have been helping Rusty's Mom and Aunt (Hey Aunt Barbara and Uncle Ed!!) as best I can with anything and everything around here which keeps me busy and I like to be busy. I am helping them sell Grandma's house and that has been an adventure, I'm learning there are some crazy folks in this world. Mom is going to help me hold an open house on Sunday the 25Th. I'm actually looking forward to it, I've never done anything like that before. Well, sorry to cut this short but I must fly the coop for now!

Weekend Review

Hey there everybody, I know it's been a few days! Sorry!! Friday we had date night with Kyle, Crystal and Hannah, dinner and bowling. That was a blast, if you like bowling you don't realize how much fun it is until you haven't done it in a while. We got a little silly and seemed to revert back to our younger years, I tell you there are only a handful of people that can really turn my giggle box upside down and Kyle and Crystal are two of them. We really enjoy every minute we spend with them, that's why we are looking forward to spending a week with them in November on our Tennessee vacation.
Saturday was race day, and everyone knows I really look forward to race day! The weather was looking a little iffy, but the rain held off for us. There were not a lot of classes running so therefore Rusty's class had a heat race on top of the feature race. Rusty placed 3rd in the heat race which in turn qualified him for a good position in the feature race. He raced in 2ND position for quite a few laps and I just knew he had it in the bag, but Lee came up from behind and Rusty fell back to 3rd. We are proud of Lee he is sitting in number 1 for the points this season. Well Rusty went on to finish the race in 3rd place, he got a nice orange trophy this go round. Aunt Barbara we wish you could have been there to see it and be in the pictures. We had so few classes the races were over by 9:30. We never get out of there that early!
Sunday was my cousins wedding day! It was a beautiful ceremony despite the rain that only lasted the length of the ceremony itself. It began raining when the bride walked out and stopped as soon as the ceremony was over, very strange, but it is what it is. I don't think I have ever seen my grandfather perform a ceremony that quickly, the harder it began to rain the faster he got. Good job Papa, you work well under pressure!!! I got lots of beautiful pictures which I know you will all want to see and I will post as quickly as I can. It was wonderful to see all of the family. The bride and bridesmaid dresses were GORGEOUS!! The groom and groomsman were very handsome as well!
Oh yeah and Auburn barely squeaked out a win, War Eagle!
That is the existent of my weekend! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well!

Grandma Update

Grandma had her biopsy this morning and came through just fine. As of right now the doctors don't have the results back, so we are still uncertain as to what she has. We did find out the doctors found fluid on her lungs that would coincide with pneumonia but she doesn't have any other symptoms. So as it stands Grandma is a medical mystery, but we all love her!

Grandma

Yesterday was an eventful day for many, it began with Rusty's grandmother being rushed to the ER! Once she got to the ER they ran tests and xrays that showed a small spot on one of her lungs. Throughout the day she had several blood pressure drops which scared her, so the doctors decided to put her in ICU over night for observation purposes. As of last night the doctors think she may have the start of lung cancer. Today she is doing better she ate very well at breakfast and the doctors are moving her out of ICU and into a room. Her doctor consulted a surgeon at EMC and they are going to perform a biopsy tomorrow with a bronchial scope and examine the rest of her lung to see what condition it is in. Then Sat. they are going to run another CT scan and possibly another biopsy. So if it is lung cancer hopefully they caught it in it's early stages and can treat it with radiation or chemo. Grandma is tough she will get through this little bump in the road.

Last Weekend

I know it's Tuesday but I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I ventured to the Auburn vs Mississippi St. football game Saturday night with my parents while my other half raced in Kinston. Auburn won... WAR EAGLE!
Rusty's racing adventure seemed quite interesting though, it rained when everyone got to the track but because the Pro Late Models (I call them the Big Boys) that come from miles away were racing track officials never called the race. So once the rain stopped everyone got on the track to help dry it. They had the driver's meeting and got a few races in, then it started raining again. Well they still didn't call the race. Long story short (because anyone and everyone who knows me knows I tend to ramble), Rusty got to race. He started third on the poll and ended in 6Th place, Joey did well and ended the race in 5Th place. Our friend Lee Rogers ended the race in 3rd, Lee has done very well this season with lots of top 3 wins. Lee is currently 1st in the points with Rusty in 4Th and Joey in 11Th. They have all improved so much this season. I really can't believe the season is ending next month, we only have 2 races left until the championship.
My cousin Langdon is getting married this next weekend (Sunday Sept. 20Th). We are looking forward to seeing the family, it has been a little while since we have seen everyone at one time. Unfortunately Rusty and I won't get to attend the rehearsal dinner, but we will definitely be at the wedding.

Hannah

I also wanted to share some pictures with you of our Goddaughter Hannah. She is a blast to be around, her parents are okay too (he, he don't shoot me Crystal if you are reading this)!! She really keeps me in stitches! Hannah is 7 months old and Rusty and I have really enjoyed the gift her parents have given us by allowing us to share in those "special moments". The first week of November Kyle, Crystal and Hannah are joining Rusty and myself on vacation to Pigeon Forge, TN and we are all looking forward to it. I have found myself planning things I think Hannah will enjoy, as if she is the one taking the vacation and the adults are just along for the ride. What's funny is she isn't our child but she is the closest child Rusty and I have right now and we cherish every moment her parents allow us to have with her! Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Finally Some Pictures

The first picture I'll share is of my arm where I pinched it in the chair Sunday. Trust me it hurt as bad as it looks, today is Wednesday and it is still black and blue!
OUCH!

And now for the pictures everyone really wants to see... Baby Crews!

UNCLE RUSTY PINCHED THAT BABY!!
Actually we found out he had a poopy diaper REAL QUICK.

Crews was playing peek-a-boo with us!

Baby Crews wasn't even 24 hours old when these pictures were taken!!

Weekend Events

Well, we made it through the weekend! Baby Crews and Mom Erica are healthy and ready to go home today (I'll post some pictures later this week), Auburn squeaked out a win on Saturday and our good friends Kyle and Crystal asked Rusty and I last night to be Godparents to their 7 month old little girl Hannah! So the weekend was good to us. You don't realize how blessed you truly are until friends ask such things of you, and without hesitation we accepted.

We know another special little girl that is having a birthday this Sunday!!! Not just any Birthday though it is her 1st Birthday... HAPPY 1st BIRHTDAY MISS CAROLINE!! Eat lots of cake!

I had a slight incedent yesterday, I some how managed to pinch the underside of my upper left arm in a hole created in my recliner when the top portion is completely reclined. So my arm is now a nice black and blue. I made Rusty take pictures last night so I can post them on here, so pictures will follow later this week.

So as you can see we had an eventful weekend not as eventful as some may have had, but eventful enough for us. I hope to get more pictures on here for everyone to see by the end of the week.

Just a few pictures of us

These are our four legged children, the top picture is Dale and the bottom picture is Kami.

I'm testing whether or not I can figure out how to post pictures, bear with me! Ok it seems as though I've got the hang of this! This picture was taken last November, we had a photo session with a friend and then gave the pictures out in Christmas cards and as gifts to family. Now lets see if I can find some racing photos to put on here! I hope you are enjoying my new found website as much as I am! Thanks for hanging in there with me.

Wednesday, September 2, 2009

Well here we are on day two of blogging! I don't really have much to tell about, Rusty's little brother Ronnie and his wife Erica are expecting their first child this Friday (Sept. 4Th). So Rusty and I will be an aunt and uncle to a little boy by Friday night. My cousin Langdon is getting married on Sept. 20Th in Fairhope, AL, I'm excited for him. It will be kind of awkward though meeting his fiance for the first time on their wedding day, it's alright! And everybody knows it is Fall Football season already, WAR EAGLE! I hope whomever your allegiance lies with has the best season possible.

I already told you Rusty and I race in Kinston, AL on Saturday nights and love it. Well we had a race this past Sat. (Aug 29Th), Rusty came in 4Th which is his usual running spot but the exciting part of the race was his older brother Joey came in 3rd for the first time of the season. He usually finishes in seventh or eighth position. So Joey got his first trophy!!! Rusty already got his 3rd place trophy earlier in the season, the day before his birthday in June. They have both improved dramatically from where they started, I'm excited for them both! I hate that I have started this blog spot so late in the season because we have had all kinds of exciting things happen, so we will just consider this a jump start for next season!

New at blogging

I see that this is the newest thing for keeping up with friends. It looks pretty simple but I don't know how well I am going to do at keeping up with it.
